What I have learned regarding Blogging (and reading them)

January 31, 2008~ I have learned there is not enough hours in the day. I am thoroughly enjoying all the information out there on the blogs but just realized I have spent the better part of my day getting "lost" in the world of blogs and rss feeds. I read and come across an interesting topic, software, strategy and then want to practice with that idea so as to try to incorporate it into my classrooms. However, I need to perhaps schedule my time better. Although reading, learning, and exploring are part of my job description, getting off my schedule and almost missing a class is a bad thing. I do believe, however, this will be resolved once I get my rss feeds organized and up to date. Until then, I may set my calendar appointments to remind me five minutes before so I will not miss anything.....

  1. I too am having trouble finding time to do everything I need to do. I am a Curriculum Facilitator and Technology Coordinator at a middle school.I am also teaching an online class, taking this one and helping my husband with another. I am finding these blogs to be very interesting and I find myself going off on tangets. A few minutes ago I went into a classmate's blog and somehow it loading over 40 times on my computer. I found your blog especially interesting because I was a Technology Coach for 3 years.

  3. Robin, it is the hardest thing in the world for me to stay on top of technology education for myself. I find myself trying to catch up on 150 blog feeds. twitter, educational journal, and keep sanity in my life. Sometimes its not possible. I don't know how some people can blog everyday, twit 20X a day, teach/train, read articles, reflect, and take care of themselves/family.

One practice I am trying to adopt is taking one hour a week to read/research at work. REGARDLESS of everything I have to do for my 10 schools. I want to make it part of my schedule. I will have to keep you posted on my success.

BTW, thanks for adding me to your blogroll. :)
